Meeting called to order by Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Minutes of last regular meeting, Oct. 25, 1962, read and approved .
Council members present: J.C. Hefner, Phil Pringle and Talmadge
Oxford . Absent C.E. Ottoway and F. Dean Sears .
Motion: By T. Oxford to pay bills as presented; motion second by
Phil Pringle . Motion carried . 3 Ayes; 0 noes.
Motion: By T. Oxford that the next regular meeting be moved from
November 22, 1962 back to November 20, 1962 at 7 :30 PM.
Motion second by Phil Pringle. Motion passed ; 3 ayes ;
0 noes.
Motion: By Phil Pringle that Ordinance #30 be adopted . Motion
second by J. C. Hefner, Motion carried - 3-ayes ; 0 noes.
Ordinance #30 amends the Corporate limits of the City
of Allen, annexing certain territory contiguous to and
adjoining the City of Allen; and providing for an effective
date of this Ordinance.
M Discussion by the Mayor and Council concerning Civil Defense; the
current needs and etc . of the City. Mayor Jones pointed out that
a shelter might cost a neighborhood group about $ 5,000 at this
time. For each 200 people. The estimate includes radiation meters and other essential
equipment. In this proposal neighbors would still have to contribute
food, blankets, and other supplies . It could be used ordinarily
as clubhouse or recreation hall.
Discussion concerning improvements to South 3rd Street West ;
west of West Ave B South.
Motion to adjourn by Mayor Jones . Second by T. Oxford ; motion
carried Ayes 3 noes 0.
