1) Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the Parks and Recreation Board present, Chair Losavio, called
the meeting to order at 726 p.m. on Monday, in the Parks Conference Room of the
Municipal Court and Parks and Recreation Administration Building at 301 Century
Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2) Approve Minutes of the August 11, 2014 Meeting
Motion: Upon a motion by Member Davidson and a second by Member Vizcaino,
the Parks and Recreation Board voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to
approve the minutes from the August 11, 2014, meeting. The motion
carried.

3) Review and Approve Hillside Play Area Concept Designs
Ms. Demos reviewed the two concepts for the project previously presented. Concept
A focused on a large playground with traditional elements as well as balance and
climbing pieces. Concept B included a sports court, swings and a climbing structure.
Both concepts included a pavilion structure. Ms. Demos then shared the results of the
community input survey, which were six votes for Concept A and one vote for
Concept B. After a short discussion the following motion was brought forward.
Motion: Upon a motion by Member John Holley and a second by Member Vizcaino
the Parks and Recreation Board voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to
accept Concept A with the revision of adding swings into the plan if the
design allows for it. The motion carried.
4) Items of Interest [Board announcements regarding local civic and charitable events,
meetings, fiindraisers, and awards.]

5) Adjourn

Motion: Upon a motion by Member Larry Holley and a second by Member John
Holley. the Board voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the
meeting at 8:03 p.m. The motion carred.
