CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM.
With a quorum of the Board present, the Board of Adjustment was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
by Chairman Cocking at the Allen Library, Two Allen Civic Plaza, Allen, Texas.
Approve Minutes (Agenda Item 1)
Chairman Cocking read the agenda item into the record as follows.
"Approve Minutes of July 12, 1999, Regular Meeting."
MOTION Upon a motion by Board Member Engle and a second by Board Member Prall,
the Board voted 5 For and 0 Opposed to approve the minutes of July 12, 1999
The motion carried.

Acting Chairman Harvey read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Election of Officer - Chairman, Vice -Chairman."

Board Member Prall nominated Jeff Cocking for the office of Chairman. With no further
nominations, Jeff Cocking was elected Chairman by acclamation.
Board Member Cocking nominated David Prall for the office of Vice -Chairman. With no further
nominations, David Prall was elected Vice -Chairman by acclamation.
Training Session

Ms. Sally Leeper presented a PowerPoint slide presentation detailing the functions of the
Board and the staff support. City Attorney Peter G. Smith presented a discussion of the legal
responsibilities of the Board.
OTHER BUSINESS.
Ms. Leeper provided Chairman Cocking with a copy of the Rules and Procedures of the City
Council and discussed the possibility of the Board adopting their own rules and procedures.
ADJOURN
MOTION Upon a motion by Board Member Cocking and a second by Board Member
Prall, the Board voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to adjourn the February 7,
2000, meeting of the Board of Adjustment at 9:30 p.m. The motion carried.
