Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quomm of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public An
Committee was called to order by Chair Gilbert at 6.00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
1. Approve minutes from the July 15, 2014 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Carriere and seconded by committee
member Carroll, the committee voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the July 15, 2014 regular meeting as presented.
2. Public Art Project at Watters Branch Community Park
Ms Smeby introduced Elizabeth Mchrath with Dunaway Associates, the design consultants on
this community park project. Ms. McIlrath shared with the committee several examples of park
projects they have completed which included artist involvement and also reported that they have
had great success including public an at varying levels. In addition, she recommended that the
artist should come in after the theme for the park has been selected. She then took questions from
the committee that included such items as project budgets for other projects.

3. Ongoing Project Update
Mr. McComb shared photos of Chac being moved to its new location on August 15 and stacked
into place on August 16. He also reported that lighting and area cleanup are still in progress.
