Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
1 Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:06 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 to the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
1. Approve minutes from the January 20, 2015 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee
member Bennett, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the January 20, 2015 regular meeting as presented.
2. Approve minutes from the February 12, 2015 Regular Meeting
MOTION. Upon a motion made by committee member Barry and seconded by committee
member Wittsche, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the February 12, 2015 regular meeting as presented.
3. Consider Making a Recommendation to City Council for the Watters Branch Community
Park Artist Selection
After a short discussion, it was decided that having each committee member evaluate each of the
four finalists on a point system, based on established criteria and then compiling the results would
be the most efficient way to determine the best selection. The committee members then
individually ranked Mary Ann Baker, Pete Beeman, May and Watkins and Tim Upham on a scale
of I to 4 (lowest to best) for value, art, and comprehensiveness. Once the matrix was completed
and recorded the following motion was brought forward.
