Tim Dentler, Director, Parks and Recreation Matt McComb, Landscape Architect, Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Support Specialist, Parks and Recreation Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public An Committee was called to order by Chair Carroll at 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. 1. Approve minutes from the April 24, 2015 Regular Meeting MOTION Upon a motion made by committee member Gilbert and seconded by committee member Bennett, the committee voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to accept minutes from the April 24, 2015 regular meeting as presented. 2. Consider Future Project at Ford Pool Mr. Dentler gave background and an update on the status of the Ford Pool renovation, reporting that the project is currently in the process of being reviewed by the Technical Review Committee. He then shared with the committee the design concept plan, including elevations showing the columns that had previous discussed as a possible future project. A representative from Brandstetter Carroll, the design consultant for this project, will be invited to present further details at the next committee meeting. 1 3. Financial Review PUBLIC ART COMMUTE REGULAR MEETING May 19, 2015 1 Bond funds will likely be available to June, otherwise there were no updates to the committee's financial position. 4. Ongoing Project Updates Mr. McComb shared rough drawings of the interior and exterior of the bridge. Member Carroll inquired about adding metal accents to the bridge approach. After a short discussion, the committee determined no additional funds could be allocated to the project, so this idea was dismissed. Mr. McComb shared color samples and photos of the progress of Wave Machine, the piece being installed by developer Wynn Jackson. The contracts with May and Watkins Design, LLC have been finalized for the Watters Branch Project and insurance details are currently be addressed. 5. Public Art Master Plan Discussion Prior to the meeting, committee members were asked to continue to review the existing Public Art Master Plan and bring forward any additional items that may need specific attention during the update. Several members shared items relating to inflation rate, scale, encouraging public an to private development. 6. Items of Interest a. Items for Future Agendas I.
