With a quorum of the Board present, the Keep Allen Beautiful Regular meeting was called to order
at 7 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21. 1999, at the Bethany Lakes Pacillion, 1201 E Bethany Dr.
Approve the Minutes of the Aimust 17 1999 Reitular Meetin (Agenda Item 11)
A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the August 17, 1999, meeting. The
Board voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed; the minutes were approved
Introduction of New Member Kay McKenna (Place No. l) (Agenda Item 111)
Kay, was welcomed and told us about herself and her family She is very active in Carl Scouts and
Boy Scouts and that will be a great help to the Board. We welcome her to our Board
Diane Craie frexas Wildflower Onranization (Agenda Item IV)
Diane Craig. Executive Director of Brazos Beautiful spoke to the Board about their program and the
success it has had in their surrounding community Some of the programs that they sponsor and support are
listed below
• Beautification and Litter Abatement
• Public Awareness
• Youth Education
• Waste Minimization & Recycling
She gave the Board valuable information about how important publicity can be in getting the word
out on programs and projects. She told us to make our programs, whatever they are, visible to the public so
that they will remember what our organization by our programs/events and that by following these rules we
gain their support

Action Items (Agenda Item VI)
The Board went over the action items
Review Allen Carden Club Meeting (Agenda Item VII)
Pat Buckley gave an review of the meeting. It was very informative and TXDOT can and will help
us with beautification projects on thew highways We will work with Parks and Recreation to use TXDOT
as a source of materials and money. The wildflowers that TXDOT showed us were beautiful and came in a
large variety of colors it will be hard to choose which ones we want to try fast.
Ithms of Interest (Agenda Item VIII)
The fall trees was again brought up, this would be in cooperation with Parks and Recreation.
The November 13, 1999. Texas Recycles Day Event was discussed We will hear more about
this at our next mecting
Talked about the Recycled Art Sculputure Contest. Such as making recycled boxes for the
schools
Talked about some logo's for the wildflower program
