1. Call to order and announce a quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair Kerry Craven at
6:38 p in on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, in the Council Conference Room at City HaIL 305 Century Parkway,
Allen, Texas.
2. Approve minutes of Mav 19 meeting
No minutes were available
3. JTpdate from Parks Dept. on Horticulture and Environmental Programs —Denise Moore
Communication from Denise Moore delivered by Amanda Mattle: Denise Moore, Don Kerr, and JerrC
Straka presented at Boon Elementary GOLD Day, Allen Garden Club planted two butterfly gardens at
Heritage Park, summer color has been planted and crew is preparing parks for summer functions.
4. Receive update on KAB Events and Projects
a. Reuse a Bae Giveaway follow-up — AAR
Four stores were visited for a recount with these results. 1) 33% increase, 2) 3.6 % increase, 3) 41%
decrease. and 41 2991b increase.
b. KTB Conference —AAR
( Who reported on k I B Conf.') a total of seven awards were awarded to Allen, winners will be
honored at Council on July 14, all were impressed with KAB display that was set up at conference.
c. USA Celebration — June 27
C WD providing bio -degradable serveware for event. Decals for buses will be applied on Fridav by
volunteers. May be able to set recycling containers out Fridaynight.
d. Cyclone Electronics Collection at City Hall — August 8
Discussion of electronics recycling methods and various vendors for this service.

E,1 To be held at new AISD Administration Building. Board members will solicit for donations, request
® for donation letters and tax forms. Discussion of current donations.
C. Allen Recycles Day — November?
Currently seeking shredder to participate. Last year's non-profit organizations are participating
again.
g. Rotary Holiday Parade — December 6
Recycled An Contest winners will "alk in parade with KAB.
h. Seeding a Healthy Community — April 10 2010
Kirk Evans and Donna Kliewer attended a meeting at the Village at Allen Ideas for the upcoming
event include stone dam tour, bird watching, nature walks, kids' choir, jazz band from AND schools,
cooking demo, Joey Alette and Trevor as guest chefs.

Suggested to tie to Seeding a Healthy Community festival for better participation.
5. Receive Financial Report/Budget update
Donna Kliewer reported that the City KAB account balance is $997.38; the American National Bank
account balance is $21.040.55
6. Receive reports from Strateeic Planning initiatives
a. Communication
Kerry noted that the E -news environmental tip was missing this Friday Kerry invited KAB
members to attend the Green WaINIart tour on July 14 with Fmisar. KAB requested a MRF tour in
the fall.

d. Parks and Recreation Liaison
No updates were available
7. Discussion of Keep Texas Beautiful Youth Awards
Eagle Scouts and KTB winners w ill be honored at City Council, July 14" or July 28'" at 7 p.m.
