E- 1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
[G With a quomm present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to
order by Chair Pat Buckley at 6:40pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 in the
Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Public Recoenition/Citizens Comments/Introduction of Guests
Leadership Allen representatives Kathleen Vaught, Lauri O'Daniel, Julie Spenser
were introduced to the board.
3. Presentations
Kathleen Vaught made a presentation of a multifaceted project to honor past
Mayors of the City of Allen. This project included a native plant garden to be
installed at Norton Elementary in honor of Allen's first mayor. Leadership Allen
asked KAB to support this endeavor.
MOTION: Carol made a motion to fund the Leadership Allen Mayoral Garden
Project at the $200 level as well as to donate the necessary compost from our
stock of free compost at the Custer Compost Facility Kerry seconded the motion
with all in favor. Pat will email a letter of support for the project with KAB's
endorsement.
4. Approve the minutes of January 16, 2007
MOTION: Kerry made a motion to approve the January 16, 2007 minutes with
revisions. Stephenie seconded the motion with all in favor.
5. Receive Financial Report/Budget
The KAB bank account is growing due to Trees for Allen deposits. Other reports
were not available.
6. Update by Parks and Recreation on Various and Upcomine Events
No update was available. Discussion of Arbor Day Celebration activities and
need for KAB participation.
7. Update on KAB Events

8. Governor's Award Project & Environmental Center
Carol offered to deliver an electronic entry template for each KTB award. Pat
presented names
and organizations to be submitted to KTB. The board selected names and
categories from the
list and committed to write summaries for their choices.
10. KAB Marketing/Branding/Website
Donna reported that DECA told Wendy that the KAB project was on the back
burner until
the end of February
12. Items of Interest to the Board
Carol presented to the board a KAB Board Member Annual Volunteer
Opportunities list including hours for each activity held in 2007 Other
discussions included upcoming bond election, the plans for a Water Fair
education event for youth and adults during a Summer Sounds concert in June to
replace the Corporate Challenge water way cleanup, placing an Allen Garden
Club ad in the Garden Tour Guidebook, the Connemara cleanup, the Cottonwood
Shopping Center refurbishing and use of native plants and a get -well gift for
Steve Massey.
MOTION: Stephenie made a motion to budget $100 for a get -well gift for Mr.
Massey Lynna seconded the motion with all in favor. A gift certificate for
NetFlicks was decided upon.

The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:40pm
