KEEP ALLEN BEAUTIFUL BOARD
REGULAR MEETING

1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called
to orler by Chair Pat Buckley at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in the
Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Public Recognition/Citizens Comments/Introduction of Guests
New KAB board members were introduced to all in attendance.
3. Report by Dr. Tony Day reeardine DECA/KAB project.
Mr. Day cancelled his report prior to the meeting.
4. Approve minutes of August 21, 2007
MOTION: Stephenie made a motion to approve the August 21, 2007 minutes. Dan
seconded the motion with all in favor.
5 Receive Financial Report/Budget
The Citv KAB account balance is $24,000. The KAB bank account balance is
$16,423.46.

6. Election of Officers
MOTION: Dan made a motion to move the election of officers to the November
meeting. Stephenie seconded the motion with all in favor.
7. Update by Parks and Recreation on Various and Upcoming Events
Susan Campbell reminded the Board of the Waterwise Landscaping (SmartScape)
seminar at the MCPAR building on Thursdav, Green Elementary has adopted the
triangle planting bed at Green Park; the Arbor Day Poster Contest theme is "Trees are
Terrific — Inside and Out" Presentations about trees and helpful hints to make tree
posters were presented by Ms. Campbell at Bolin and Norton elementary schools;
KAB will judge Arbor Day posters in November in lieu of the regular meeting, the
Allen Garden Club will plant EarthKind roses in the new park in the older Allenwood
neighborhood during Allen Recycles Day; tree sales will be held at the Tree Farm on
February 16 and 23 in order to reduce the number of trees that will move to the new
Tree Farm; Alex Bailey, Eagle Scout candidate, will be beautifying senior's homes
during Allen Recycles Day The wildflower program is moving forward with areas
being sprayed to get the grasses out before seeds are planted; 50,000 square feet on
US75: 2 pounds of seeds are planted per 1,000 square feet; pockets of bluebonnets are
being planted at US75 and Bethany, Exchange and McDermott.

Environmental Center
Brian Bristow will present plans to KAB when the Master Plan for the Molsen Farms
property begins. KAB will research other centers to find their best practices and most
useful amenities, seek funding, and give input for the building of the center.

Items of Interest to the Board
Kathy Keller-Mielke and Robert Medigovich will present The Waste Works Awards
and the C WD rebate checks to the schools at this month's PTA meeting. Prestige
Circle was adopted this month by a Boy Scout group. Pat suggested that KAB
schedule a goal -setting session in the spring of 2008.
MOTION: Stacy made a motion to move the November KAB meeting, which is the
week of Thanksgiving, to November 15 at 5 30pm in order to judge the Arbor Day
posters. Dan seconded the motion with all in favor.
MOTION: Dan made a motion to cancel the December KAB meeting. Stacy
seconded the motion with all in favor.

The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 7:50pm
on Tuesday, October 16, 2007
