Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair Brian Casstevens at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. 2. Introduction of Guests Collin County Constable Deputies Lonnie Simmons, Mark Shook and Beck Elkins were present. The deputies gave an update on the illegal dumping and cleanup activities in Allen and Collin County in preparation for a Council presentation on April 12. 3. Great American Cleanup Discussion of layout and changes to the plan for the Cleanup. 4. Approve February 15, 2005 Minutes Approval of the February minutes was tabled. 4. Financial ReoortBudeet Current balance in the KAB checking account is $10,913.01. The City account balance is $19,907.60. 5. Parks and Recreation Update Susan Campbell presented information about Trees for Allen delivery plans on Saturday; KAB participation at the Arbor Day Celebration; red bud tree planting for Arbor Day poster contest winner at Vaughan Elementary; Arbor Day tree is a live oak. 6. KAB Events • Adopt -a -Highway and Smartscapes Month — March • Litter Index—March 19 The litter index will be taken on March 19 after the delivery of Tree Guides. • Arbor Day Celebration — April 9 at Stacy Ridge Park • Great American Clean Up — April 23 • Governor's Award/Individual KTB Awards Due — May 10 • Scout Recognition — May 23 KAB will recognize the projects of the Eagle Scout candidates for 2004-05. • Corporate Challenge — June 4 (Saturday) • KTB Convention — June 27-30 • Environmental Education Workshop—September 22 7. Adopt-a-Hiehwav Update Discussion of results of letters to adoptive groups and volunteer participation, hours and poundage increases. 9. Old Business Discussion of prize, costs, and delivery for the winning Reuse -a -Shoe contest school. 10. Items of Interest to the Board Discussion of Tom Thumb Grocer's donation of hot dogs to the Cleanup and t -shirts for employees; Reuse -a -Shoe results; KAB partnerships; guests planning to attend the Cleanup; rescheduling KAB annual report to Council. 9. Adjourn The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:OOpm on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. These minutes were approved on 21 st day of June , 2005.
