Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair Brian Casstevens at 6:43 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 in the Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. 2. Introduction of Guests No guests were present. 3. Approve March 15.2005 and April 19.2005 Minutes No minutes were presented for approval 4. Financial RmortBudeet Current balance in the KAB checking account is $8,993.01. The City account balance is $16,363.37 5. Parks and Recreation Update Susan Campbell presented information about graffiti abatement project with Frisco YMCA in June, The Edge skate park opening, current Eagle Scout project at the Tree Farm, wildflower seeds being ordered for fall planting, and the USA Celebration. Discussion of 2006 Arbor Day Celebration plans. Pat Buckley and Brian Casstevens volunteered to be on the Arbor Day committee. MOTION: Carol Hohmann made a motion to purchase $500 of wildflower seeds for the Parks and Recreation Department to plant through the wildflower program this fall. Brian Casstevens seconded the motion with all in favor. MOTION: Ron Wheless made a motion to allocate $1,000 to go to purchasing tables for preferred seating at the USA Celebration for KAB members and families. Seconded by Carol Hohmann with all in favor. KAB Events • Great American Clean Up — AAR Discussion of changes to procedures; Goodwill was the most utilized vendor and a �j suggestion was made to provide them with more space for residents to park when ® dropping off donations and for volunteers to help unload vehicles. • Governor's Award/Individual KTB Awards — Mailed to KTB • Discussion of KAB report to Council & Scout recognition — May 24 Carol Hohmann is preparing KAB PowerPoint for Council. Scout recognition on track with last scout project this week. • Corporate Challenge — June 4 CWD is the only registered participant at this time. • KTB Convention — June 27-30 • Environmental Education Workshop —September 22 Carol Hohmann presented an update of donations received and letters of request for donations already sent to previous donors. Discussion of `thank you' notes to donors. 7. KAB accept Svnne Ferguson's Resienation 8. Items of Interest to the Board Discussion of recycling in the City parks; Waste Works Award distribution; the American Beverage Association release to KTB affiliates to use their promotional recycling posters. 9.
