1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by
Chair Brian Casstevens at 6:38 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 in the Council
Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Introduction of Guests
No guests were present.
3. Approve July 19, 2005 Minutes
MOTION: Pat Buckley made a motion to approve the July 19, 2005 minutes with
corrections to the date of the Arbor Day Celebration on article 5. The motion passed
with all in favor.
4. Financial Report/Budeet
Current balance in the KAB checking account is $9,243.01 plus a $50 uncashed check.
Amounts of $125 and $35 will be deposited in the coming week.
The City account balance is $11,397.87.
5. Parks and Recreation Update
Susan Campbell provided an update for the following projects and events: Wildflower
planting in September, SmartScapes presentation in March, KAB volunteers needed
for "pick your own tree" during Trees for Allen campaign on March 18 from Sam — 12
noon, update of Texas Tree Trails. Ms. Campbell thanked KAB for wildflower seed
donation and tree containers.

• Environmental Education Workshop — September 22
Discussion of agenda and location, update from Ms. Hohmann on donations and
request for updates from the Board, discussion of volunteers needed and number of
guests expected.
• Allen Recycles Day — November 5
Discussion of the day's activities including Lake and River Cleanup and Senior
Citizen's yard work.
• National Arbor Day Poster Contest
Discussion of contest deadlines.
• Trees for Allen— February thru March
Discussion of "pick your own tree" date, time and work to be done.
• Arbor Day Celebration — April I
Celebration will be at Montgomery Farms south of Bethany Drive.
• Great American Cleanup—April 22
Discussion of Earth Day and week events.
• KTB Convention —June 26-28,2006 in Plano
7. Items of Interest to the Board
Discussion of a possible survey of Allen residents to see what the KAB recognition is;
of Governor's award application; Adopt -a -Highway memorial signs., advertising to
thank the citizens of Allen for their help in winning Governor's award recognition;
media competition using the State competition parameters; NCTRA Vision awards.
8. Adjourn
The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:25pm on
Tuesday, August 16, 2005.
