Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by
Vice -Chair Patricia Buckley at 6:39 PM on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in the First Floor
Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, One Allen Civic Plaza,
Allen, Texas.

Introduction of Guests
No guests were present

Financial Report/Bud¢et
Discussion of the Trees for Allen program and current budget.
4.
Parks and Recreation Update
Donna Kliewer presented a report from Susan Campbell. Discussion included the
Texas Forest Service grant application; the Old Forest interpretive trail; Parks asked
KAB to take a more active role during the Trees for Allen promotion and tree delivery.
5. Annual Board Evaluation
Pat Buckley led discussion regarding the City Secretary's request for evaluation.
6. KAB Events
• KTB Annual Conference AAR
• Educator's Reception —September 10
Erin Chastain -Harris reported activity regarding the KAB Educator's
Reception; the Chamber of Commerce new teacher reception; Texas Recycled
Art Contest in November, and her education efforts on KAB's behalf.
• Harvest of Harmony — October 30
Allen Philharmonic Symphony annual fundraiser. Discussion of what they
expect and what KAB may do to participate.
• Allen Recycles Day — November 6
Discussion of the computer collection grant application with Collin County
that will take place on Allen Recycles Day; further plans for participation and
partnerships.
• Christmas Tree Recycling — December 26 — January 14
7. Old Business
• Memberships
Discussion was postponed until Brian Casstevens could be present.
8. Items of Interest to the Board
• Board Re -appointments see Item 5.
• KTB awards will be presented at Council on July 27 Carol Hohmann
volunteered to present the winners to Council.
• Discussion of placing an ad in the Allen Philharmonic Symphony programs.
No decision was made.
• Discussion of putting recycled gift ideas on KAB website during the holidays.
• Discussion of the new single -stream recycling program beginning in
November.
• Discussion of a notebook of all businesses in Allen for future reference in
obtaining corporate sponsors, donations or grants.

The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:31 PM on
Tuesday, June 20, 2004.
