Min - Board of Adjustment - 2019 - 08/05 - Regular BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT SIGN CONTROL BOARD BUILDING STANDARDS COMMISSION _■ Regular Meeting August 5,2019 CITY OF ALLEN ATTENDANCE: Board Members Present: Deborah Angell Smith,Chair Craig Gillis, 1"Vice-Chair Bruce Howard,2nd Vice-Chair Ken Barry Luke Hollingsworth Brian Doherty,Alternate No. 1 Emad Siddiqi,Alternate No.2 City Staff Present: Hayley Angel,Planner II Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the Board Members present,Chair Smith called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at Allen City Hall,305 Century Parkway,Allen,Texas, 75013. Consent Agenda 1. Approve minutes from the February 4,2019,regular meeting. Motion: Upon a Motion by Board Member Siddiqi and a second by Board Member Hollingsworth, the Board voted 7 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED, to approve the February 4,2019 Regular Meeting minutes. The motion carried. Regular Agenda • 2. Public Hearing—Conduct a Public Hearing and consider a request for a variance from the minimum lot area which otherwise does not allow a subdivision pursuant to the Board's authority under Allen Land Development Code Sec.2.02.2.1(d)for 1.885±acres of land located in the William Snyder Survey,Abstract No. 821, and more commonly known as 405 S. Malone Road,Allen,Texas; generally located at northeastern corner of the intersection of Malone Road and High Point Drive. (BOA-070219-0005)[405 S. Malone Road] Ms. Angel,Planner II, stated that staff is requesting a continuation of the public hearing. She noted that,during preparation for the case, it was determined that the presumed annexation ordinance did not include the subject property. She stated that the continuation would allow for City Council to act on an ordinance to include the property, pursuant to State Law,as it was presumed to be part of the City. Chair Smith opened the public hearing. Asghar Afghani, 503 S. Malone Road,asked for more information on the case. Motion: Upon a Motion by 1St Vice-Chair Gillis and a second by Board Member Barry, the Board voted 5 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED, to continue the public hearing to date certain August 19,2019. The motion carried. Executive Session(As Needed) Executive Session was not held. Adjournment Motion: Upon a Motion by 2°" Vice-Chair Howard and a second by Board Member Barry,the Board voted 7 IN FAVOR and 0 OPPOSED to adjourn the meeting at 7:12 p.m. The motion carried.
