Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Adlermen: Ken Posey, R.B. Whisenant, Dan Strong, Zac Robinson
Absent: Billy Joe Enloe and Jimmy Gantt
City election of April 5, 1966 was approved by the council with
the following members present, Gentry T. Jones, Ken Posey, Dan
Strong, and R.B. Whisenant. The election results are as follows:

Mayor Jones gave the Oath of Office for himself, R.B. Whisenant,
and Zack Robinson.
Mr. Robert Beer and Mrs. Cecil Mannesfield of Beer Company, Realtor,
discussed with the council about the purchase of 129 acres of land
which the City of Allen purchased for a sewer plant. Their client
was offering $115,000.00 for the land. $15,000.00 cash and a note
to be carried by the City of Allen in the sum of $100,000.00 at
5% interest, for three years.
Alderman Robinson states he thinks it would be advisable to take
this under consdieration. (for future discussion)
Mayor Jones suggested the Plannig Commissioners and the City Council
have a joint meeting and discuss the selling of the sewer property.
also discuss the city problems with reference to water, sewer, & exc.
Motion by: Ken Posey, Second by: Dan Strong, Motion Passed ayes 4, Noes 0.
Mr. George W. Martin, City Police was present to discuss with the
Council the future police service. Mayor Jones moved to pay Mr. Martin
$1.50 per hr. and $2.50 per night for expenses.
Motion by: R.B. Whisenant to pay bills presented by City Secretary.
Second by: Ken Posey, passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion to adjourn by Mayor Jones.
