Meeting called to order by Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Adlermen present: Raleigh B. Whisenant, Dan Strong, Ken Posey
and Zach Robinson. Absent Bill Enloe
Present from the City Planing Commission::
J.L. Dement, W.E. Ford, Mr Steed and Rome V. Edwards.
J.D. Goodman was present too talk with the Council about a "used car
lot" on lots 11-12 block 7-OD. Some from the City Commission said they
had no objections to a second hand car lot if properly kept.
Motion: By Zack Robinson that the City gives Mr Goodman a PERMIT ON A
(6) SIX MONTH BASIS, subject too renewal, with the understanding that
said Lot be cleaned up and a CHAIN put around the LOT also LIGHTS.
Motion second by R.B. Whisenant, motion carried - Ayes (4) Four -- noes
(0) none.
Discussion::
The City Council and the Planning Commission talked about selling the
129 acres of land the City bought for a Sewer Plant site, however,
after a court ruling on this Property, the City of Allen can not use
said property for a Sewer site. The Planning Commission seemed to think
it would be best to get a cash deal if possible, and too first contact
our BOND's MAN Mr J.D. Buchanan Jr.
Zack Robinson moved, that what-ever the expense is, be covered by a
cash deal on sale of the land such as $100,000.00 cost of property plus
other expense such as suit, lawer fee, court cost.
Mr. Hicks recommends that the City of Allen contact Plano Mayor and
it was suggested that we contact Mr. Orr about a contract with the
City of Plano concerning the tie on to the Plano Sewer System.
