CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS
July 7, 1966
Present : Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen: Billy Enloe, Zack Robinson, Ken Posey
Absent Dan Strong, R. B. Whisenant
Present : Mr. Betts, John Enloe, Gene Ereckson, and George
Martin, police.
Meeting called to order by Mayor Jones.
Mr. Betts discussed water well pumps and stated 237 gallons per minute
was being pumped with both pumps in operation.
He suggested if the need ever arised another pump could be insatlled
and enlarge the pipe flow.
Discussion of Government Loan. Mayor Jones and Mr. Betts went to
Fort Worth and checked on loan but was informed there was no money
available until June 30th, at which time we would be considered.
Mr. Betts informed the council that we definately was approved and
request for alligation frund would be considered for the Town of
Allen as soon as the money was available. Mayor Jones also reported
he contacted Congressman Ray Roberts by phone in Washington to ask
his help in getting this money for the city so we could get our
water program started.
John Enloe discussed street repair on East Ave. AA North. The council
told Mr. Enloe the street repair and new tile at the bridge would be
considered.
The Mayor discussed the choice of a loan company to deposit the
city's water and sewer money, that would pay the city the best interest,
and one that had rendered greater service in helping the city of Allen.
Minutes from the last meetings read and approved.
Bills due were read and approved.
Motion: By Ken Posey to pay bills.
Second: By Zack Robinson, Ayes 4, Noes 0.
Report of motion made by Dan Strongin the meeting of June 25, 1966
(special) in regard to the right of way for sewer line on property
purchased by Harold L. Kallenberg, Milton, Rubin and Herman M.
Woldman. The Mayor reported that Alex Orr, City Attorney made a
seperate instrument pertaining to the easements rights because there
was other items involved such as tie in fees that could not be placed
in deed of trust.
Discussion in next council meeting about an ordinance on fire works,
dogs, and undedicated streets.
Meetin adjourned by Mayor Jones.
