Aldermen : R. B. Whisenant, Bill Enloe, Zack Robinson,
Dan Strong
Absent : Ken Posey
Present : Leland McJunkin, Mrs. J.D. Smith, & Walter F.
Hicks.
Mrs . Smith made a report on getting lights for a baseball field and
said it would cost approximately $1,550.00. (Mayor Jones is to write
letter to Leamon Bros , in regards to the property East of new school
in reference to a ball field ) .
Discussion on street repairs, Avenue AA North, West Avenue C North
at Ola Lane, place rock on East Ave. C North, patch hole East
Avenue C South, in Allenwood Addition.
Estimate cost on above projects $1,300.00
Motion by Dan Strong to get above repairs done in the next two or
three months .
Second by R. B. Whisenant, motion passed, 4 ayes , noes 0.
The council. asked Mr. Hicks to check the repairs that are needed
on South Third Street East.
Motion by Bill Enloe to have Mr. Walter Hicks, Engineer, to give
an estimate cost on South Third Street East.
Second by R. B. Whisenant, motion passed, 4 ayes, noes 0.
Mr. Hicks gave to the council a supplementary preliminary report
for improvemnent to the sewerage system for the Town of Allen, Texas,
and an application for Federal Grant for sewage treatment works, to
be signed by Gentry T. Jones, Mayor.
Motion by R. B. Whisenant for Mayor to sign the Grant Application.
Second by Dan Strong, motion passed, ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by Bill Enloe to pay Betts & Smith, Engineers , in full and
write a letter telling them that the council felt their services
were no longer needed since we do not have the money to go into
the water project.at this time.
Second by R.B. Whisenant, motion passed , ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by R.B. Whisenant to pay bills, sec. by Zack Robinson,
motion passed , ayes 4 noes 0.
