SEPT. 1st 1966
Present: Mayor Gentry T. Jones
Aldermen Dan Strong, R.B. Whisenant, Bill Enloe, and Zack Robinson.
Absent: Ken Posey
Also present, Walter F. Hicks engineer
Dick Martin police
G.C. Mathews and Roy Ewen visitors
Bills approved: Motion by Dan Strong too pay bills, second by R.B.
Whisenant. Motion passed ayes 4 noes 0.
Mr. Ewen talked to the Council about fixing the Street
at East Ave. C south and Allenwood Dr.
Mr. Mathews asked that the Street, West Ave B north, on
the west side of his property be fixed.
Discussions: Tiles for driveways, the Counci thinks that the people
should furnish TILE for DRIVE-WAYS when the City opens
drainage ditches along the streets in Allen
Hogs; what too do about raising hogs in-side the City
Limits of the City of Allen.
Part time City Manager; the Council talked about a part-
time City Manager to take some of the work that is coming
up off of the Mayor and City Council, for a salary of
about $200.00 per month, with a contract to terminate
at any time.
This discussion was tabled for now.
Mr. Hicks reported the sewer grant has been approved by
the State, and that the city should start negotations
with Plano.
The council suggested each property owner get a letter
asking them to meet with the council at the next meeting
regarding guttering and curbing of South Third St. East.
The cost being $1.50 per foot.
Motion: By Bill Enloe that we publish the caption on the three
ordinances, in the Allen Times.
Second: By Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 4 noes 0.
Motion by R. B. Whisenant to give Mr. Gene Ereckson a $25.00
per month raise in salary.
Second: By Zack Robinson, motion passed, ayes 3 noes 0.
Gentry T. Jones is to write letter to Robert Harrington,
Mayor of Plano.
