Aldermen: Bill Enloe, R.B. Whisenant, Zack Robinson,
Ken Posey, and Dan Strong
Citizens: Mr. & Mrs. Don Terell, J.F. West, John Enloe, Larry Dan Davis,
David Worden, Roy Hefner, Ed Lynge, Doyle Merritt,
Jerry Carpenter, Bill Maffoli, G.C. Matthews, Leroy
Ewen, Bob Apple, Eugene Julian, Mr. & Mrs. J.D. Terrell,
Dan Hopkins, Bill Reaves, Max Maning, Leon Chumbley.
Minutes from last meeting was read and approved.
Mayor Jones reported to the council that the grant on the sewer
has been granted.
The above group of citizens was here to discuss the recreation
center that Mayor Jones was putting into operation, their main
concern as indicated by Ed Lynge was why Mr. Gooch, of McKinney
had been denied a permit to open same, at an earlier date. It was
suggested an ordinance to guide the City of Allen, be drawn up in
obtaining a recreation center.
Roy Allen Hefner ask the City Council to restrict the use of Ping
Ball machines or Pool Tables from the City of Allen.
Motion by Bill Enloe to table the discussion about the recreation
center until we have had time to study an ordinance on the subject
from other cities.
Second by Dan Strong, motion passed, Ayes 5, noes 0.
Minutes from the meetin of March 17, 1966 was read (part pertaining
to Mr. Gooch building permit.)
Motion by R.B. Whisenant to pay bill presented by City Secretary.
Second by Bill Enloe, motion passed, Ayes 5, noes 0.
