Committee Members: Present: Sandy Wittsche,Chair Cristie Johnson,Vice Chair Tod Raines Ann Carroll Absent: Denise Gilbert Jane Bennett Steve Benson City Council Liaison: Chris Schulmeister City Staff: David Angeles,Assistant Director,Parks and Recreation Matt McComb,Parks Planning and Development Manager,Parks and Recreation Jennifer Robinson, Support Specialist,Parks and Recreation Donna Ludwig, Senior Administrative Assistant,Parks and Recreation Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Sandy Wittsche at 6:06 p.m. on Tuesday,November 19,2019,in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building, 301 Century Parkway,Allen,Texas 75013. Action Items 1. Approve Minutes from the October 15,2019 Regular Meeting MOTION: Upon a motion made by Committee member Tod Raines and seconded by Committee Member Cristie Johnson,the committee voted four(4) for and none (0)opposed to accept minutes from the October 15, 2019 regular meeting as presented. 2. Select Two Committee Members to the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Artist Selection Panel After discussing the availability to serve on the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Artist Selection Panel with Committee Members,the Committee Chair approved Cristie Johnson and volunteered herself, Sandy Wittsche,to be on the selection panel. 3. Establish a Budget for the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Art Project After reviewing budgets of other public art projects and discussing the remaining bond funds available,the following motion was presented. PUBLIC ART COMMITTE REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 19,2019 MOTION: Upon a motion made by Committee Member Ann Carroll and seconded by Committee Member Cristie Johnson,the committee voted four(4)for and none (0)opposed to establish a budget not to exceed$217,652.70 for the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Art Project. 4. Consider Tree Carving Project at Spirit Park Matt McComb,Park Planning and Development Manager,presented to the Committee an opportunity for three wood carving sculptures on trees damaged at Spirit Park by a recent weather event. MOTION: Upon a motion made by Committee Member Cristie Johnson and seconded by Committee Member Tod Raines,the committee voted four(4)for and none(0) opposed to a Tree Carving Project at Spirit Park not to exceed$4,500.00. Discussion Items 3 Update on Current Projects Matt McComb,Parks Planning and Development Manager, informed the Committee that there is a kickoff meeting onsite with the artist for the Allen Event Center Rotunda on December 11. 4 Discussion on Future Projects Matt McComb,Parks Planning and Development Manager, apprised the Committee that the contract for landscape architectural services and artist selection support services has been executed and is underway for the Allen Gateway project. 5 Items of Interest(announcements regarding local civic and charitable events,meetings, fundraisers, and awards) a.
