Call to Order
With a quorum of the Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board
was called to order by Board Member Kacines at 6:37 PM on Tuesday,January 21, 2019, in the City
Hall Basement Conference Room B of City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013.
1. Approve Minutes of the October 15, 2019, Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chisholm and a second by Board Member
Ahmad, the Board voted four (4) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the minutes of
IL October 15, 2019, Regular Meeting. The motion carried.
2. Receive Financial Report.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Chisholm and a second by Board Member
Ahmad, the Board voted five (5) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the Financial
Report. The motion carried.
3. Review KAB Logos.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Rude and a second by Board Member Ahmad,
the Board voted five (5) for and zero (0) opposed to table the review of KAB Logos.
The motion carried.
4. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• Arbor Day Celebration/Trees for Allen—October 26, 2019 —After Action Report. The
board discussed alternative collection locations for Trees for Allen.
• Allen Recycles Day/Recycled Art Contest—November 2, 2019—After Action Report.
The board discussed how well the event ran. Andrea Smith reported that attendance was
high for those who received an award during the Recycled Art Contest ceremony.
• Rotary Holiday Parade— December 8, 2019—After Action Report. The board discussed
how well the parade went.

• Arbor Day Poster Contest—December 1 —February 13, 2020—Update. Andrea Smith
reported that the board is set for the second council in February and the tree planting in
March.
• GCAA Application—February 20, 2020—Update. Donna Kliewer explained what the
GCAA is to the board.
• KTB Individual and Organization Award Applications—February 14, 2020—Update.
Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith explained the awards to the board.
• Allen Eagle Run—February 29, 2020—Update. Board Member Ahmad and Smith
volunteered to help with the Allen Eagle Run.
• KTB Youth and Educator Award Applications—April 3, 2020—Update. Nothing to
report.
• Eggscellent Family Adventure—April 04, 2020—Update. Board Member Rude, Bernard,
and Chisholm volunteered to help with the event.
• Earthfest Allen—April 04, 2020—Update. Board Member Chisholm, Smith, Ahmad, and
Kacines volunteered to help with the event.
• Reuse-A-Shoe Contest—March 23 —April 10, 2020—Update. Collection of the shoes is
scheduled for the week after the GAC.
• Great American Cleanup—April 18, 2020—Update. Volunteer signup will be emailed to
the board.
5. Board Recycling Lesson. Andrea Smith gave a short recycling lesson.
6. Discuss Outreach Initiatives. Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith discussed their educational
outreach efforts.

MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Bernard and a second by Board Member
Kacines,the Board voted six(6) for and zero (0)to adjourn the Regular Meeting of the
Keep Allen Beautiful Board at 8:04 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. The motion
carried.
