ORDINANCE NO. 177
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING FOR PUBLIC
USE A PART OF THE ALLEY LOCATED IN BLOCK 14 OF
THE CITY OF ALLEN AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1:
The following described portion of
the alley located in Block 1L. of the City of Allen is
hereby abandoned and closed for public use forever, to -wit:
BEGINNING 6 feet East of the Southwest corner of
Lot 9 in Block 14;
THENCE EAST with the South line of Lots 9 and 10
to the Southeast corner of Lot 10;
THENCE SOUTH to the Northeast line of Lot 5;
THENCE WEST with the North line of Lot 5 and 4
to a point, said point being 6 feet East of the North-
west corner of Lot 4;
THENCE NORTH to the place of beginning.
SECTION 2: The title thereto is hereby divested
from the public and vested in the owners of the property
abutting such abandoned alley; provided, however, that this
action by the City of Allen is upon this express condition
that in the event it becomes necessary to reroute the
sewer line located in such alley, the First Baptist Church,
Allen, Texas, will reroute such sewer line at its own
expense. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately after
its passage and approval.
Duly passed and approved by the CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ALLEN, TEXAS, on this the 17 day of April , 1975.
