Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present,the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was
called to order by Chair Wittsche at 6:00p.m.on Tuesday,January 20,2020, in the Parks and Recreation
Conference Room of the Municipal Courts,Parks and Recreation Building,301 Century Parkway,Allen,
Texas 75013.
Action Items
1. Approve Minutes from the December 17,2019 Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Gilbert the committee voted six(6)for and none(0)opposed to accept
minutes from the December 17,2019 regular meeting as presented.
2. Appoint to Fill a Vacancy on the Artist Selection Panel for the Don Rodenbaugh
Natatorium Project
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Johnson,the committee voted six(6) for and none(0)opposed to
appoint Tanya Mac if available to the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Artist
Selection Panel.

3 Update on Current Projects
a. Allen Event Center Rotunda

REGULAR MEETING
January 21,2020
Matt has been in touch with the artist team and has supplied them the architect and
engineer of record so they are able to verify the building specifications.
b. Tree Carving Project at Spirit Park
The Forestry staff is still clearing the site in preparation of the tree carvings so it is likely
that the artist will not be onsite until March. The artist prefers to carve the first two
without an audience,but the Committee and the community will be encouraged to attend
the third carving.
4 Discussion on Future Projects
a. Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium
The posting of the call was delayed by Americans for the Arts nearly a week due to the
holidays, so the Committee agreed to extend the call until February 14,2020.
