AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS, CONTINUING
THE TAX IMPOSED BY THE LOCAL SALES AND USE TAX
ACT (ARTICLE 1066c, VERNON'S TEXAS CIVIL STATUTES)
ON THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF GAS AND ELECTRICITY
FOR RESIDENTIAL USE IN SAID CITY, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER
1, 1979.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1: The City of Allen, Texas, by majority vote
of the membership of its governing body, hereby votes to
continue the taxes authorized by the Local Sales and Use Tax
Act (Article 1066c, Vernon's texas Civil Statutes) on the
receipts from the sale, production, distribution, lease, or
rental of, and use, storage, or other consumption of gas and
electricity for residential use, effective October 1, 1979,
as authorized by Section 6 of House Bill No. 1, Acts 1978,
65th Legislature, Second Called Session.
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passa49e and approval.
