A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER, OR TERMINATE
GRANT #40479-01 FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION PROVIDING FUNDING TO PURCHASE A THREE
DIMENSIONAL SCANNING SYSTEM,IF AWARDED.
WHEREAS,the City of Allen, and its police department, responds to many serious motor vehicle crashes and
crime scenes every year; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Allen Police Department must fully investigate these serious motor vehicle crashes and
crimes; and,
WHEREAS,having the ability to use a three-dimensional scanning system will improve the police department's
ability to accurate diagram a crime scene in a more efficient manner and to provide better courtroom testimony;
and,
WHEREAS,the City of Allen agrees to provide any additional funds for the three-dimensional scanning system as
it appears in the grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Allen has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division
Funds for the Three-Dimensional Scanning System Grant will be returned to the State of Texas, Office of the
Governor,Criminal Justice Division in full.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for,accept,reject, alter,or terminate this grant
from the State of Texas,Office of the Governor,Criminal Justice Division to assist the City of Allen and the Allen
Police Department to fund the purchase of a three-dimensional scanning system.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with the
provisions of the Charter of the City of Allen, and it is accordingly so resolved.
