AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
AMENDING SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 173 OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
,TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION THEREOF; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:

SECTION I: That from and after the effective date of this Ordinance, Section I of
Ordinance No. 173, "Exemption" is hereby amended in the following manner and shall read as
follows, to -wit:
SECTION I. EXEMPTION.
Upon compliance with all requirements of this article and all other
applicable laws and ordinances, $12,000 of the assessed value of residence
homesteads of persons sixty-five (65) years of age or older shall be exempt from ad
valorem taxes levied by the City of Allen.
SECTION H: The caption of this Ordinance shall be published one (1) time in a weekly
newspaper published in the City of Allen, and shall be effective immediately from its passage
and publication.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS, on
this 15hth day of May , A.D., 1980.
