AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF TIMBERCREEK TRAIL, A STREET IN
THE TIMBERCREEK SUBDIVISION OF ALLEN, TEXAS, TO PINE TRAIL
SO AS TO AVOID CONFUSION WITH OTHER, SIMILAR NAMED STREETS
IN ALLEN, TEXAS, AND FOR THE SAFETY AND GENERAL WELFARE
OF THE CITY OF ALLEN'S INHABITANTS; AMENDING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in November, 1977, a final plat was approved for the Timbercreek
Addition townhouse development in the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, one of the
streets platted therein being designated "Timbercreek Trail"; and,
WHEREAS, said street, "Timbercreek Trail", was not installed in the initial
development; and,
WHEREAS, in April, 1980, a final plat was approved of and for the Timberbend I
Addition of the City of Allen, Texas, there being designated within said subdivision a
street by the name of "Timbercreek Court"; and,
WHEREAS, Timbercreek Court has been installed to accommodate the final
development of the subdivision and area in question; and,
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council that extreme
similarity exists between the two street designations in question, to -wit: Timbercreek
Trail and Timbercreek Court; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that the safety and welfare of the
inhabitants of both streets, and those that use and travel over said streets, in the City
of Allen might be affected as a result of the extreme similarity in names due to, for
example, the possibility of delayed response time in responding to a request for
emergency aid within the city limits; and,
WHEREAS, Timbercreek Trail presently has no inhabitants and a change prior to

occupancy will simplify utility and mail requirements; and,
WHEREAS, Timbercreek Trail is now nearing completion of final acceptance and
such things as street signs need to be ordered in connection therewith;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
J.
OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the street designation, within the Timbercreek Addition
townhouse development of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, "Timbercreek Trail'
be, and is by these presents hereby, officially changed to and redesignated as "Pine
Trail'.
SECTION 2. That, as a condition to the change and redesignation of the
street name in question, the builder/developer of said Timbercreek Addition be, and is
hereby, required to file any and all legal instruments necessary to officially change said
name on the plat records of the City of Allen and is further hereby responsible for
notification of said change and redesignation to all public utilities and postal
authorities.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances or portions of ordinances of the City of
Allen in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby amended to conform
to the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately from and after its adoption.
