Terrell Recreation Center Byran Kelley, Center Supervisor, Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Kong Moua, I1ogram Supervisor, Joe Farmer Recreation Center Ryan Patterson, Center Supervisor, Joe Farmer Recreation Center Jesse Simmons, City Forester,Horticulture and Forestry Terri Drury,Horticulture Crew Leader, Horticulture and Forestry Call to Orderand Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the Parks and Recreation Board present, Chair Johnson called the meeting to ortkr at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022, in the Parry Room of the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, 110 E. Rivercrest Drive,Allen,Texas. 1) Approve Minutes from December 13,2021,Regular Meeting. Motion: Upon a motion by Member Hollingworth and a second by Member Holley, the Parks and Recreation Board voted six(6) for and none(0) opposed to Parks and Rereation Board Minutes February 28,2022 Page 2 approve the December 13, 2021, Regular Meeting minutes as presented. The motion carried. 2) ApproveMinutes from January 31,2022,Town Hall Meeting. Motion: Upon a motion by Member Brewer and a second by Member Thomas,the Parks and Recreation hoard voted six(6) for and none(0) opposed to approve the January 31, 2022, Town Hall Meeting minutes as presented. The motion carried. 3) Recommmnd City Council Adopt the Standards of Care Necessary for Day Care Exemptim. Travis Cinniff reviewed with the Board the Standards of Care Necessary for Day Care Exemptim and took questions. After brief discussion the following motion was presented. Motion: Upon a motion by Member Simpson and a second by Member Holley,the Parks and Recreation Board voted six(6) for and none(0) opposed to recommend City Council adopt the Standards of Care Necessary for Day Care Exemption. The motion carried. 111 4) Recommend City Council Adopt the Parks,Recreation and Open Space Master Plan 2021-2031. Kate Meacham reviewed with the Board the Parks and Recreation Open Space Master Plan upithtes and took questions. After brief discussion the following motion was presented Motion: Upon a motion by Member Thomas and a second by Member Hollingsworth, the Parks and Recreation Board voted six(6) for and none (0) opposed to recommend City Council adopt the Parks,Recreation and Open Space Master Plan 2021-2031. The motion carried 5) Staff Intioductions Travis Cinniff, Recreation Services Manager introduced Timmy Vessakosol, Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center Facility Manager. Jesse" Simmons, City Forester introduce) Terri Drury, Horticulture Crew Leader. Director Kate Meacham introducel Kyle Benedict,Assistant Director of Maintenance. 6) Update of Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium and Tour Byran Kiley, Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium Center Supervisor, gave the Board a facility tour and provided an update of facility operations. 7) Recognin the Parks and Recreation Department for Awards Received at the Texas Rezreation and Parks Society(TRAPS) Conference. Parks and Recreation Board Minutes February 28,2022 Page 3 Kate Meacham recognized the several awards recently received by the department and/or staff including Texas Recreation and Parks Society(TRAPS) State Award for Marketins Excellence Award, Class II, the Jerry Garrett Memorial Young Professional State Award and the DFW Directors Excellence in Mentoring Award Tori Thibodeaux. 8) Update on Molsen Farm Master Plan Project. Kate.Meacham gave a brief overview on the Molsen Farm master planning process including the community input opportunities and the initial concept designs. 9) Items oflnterest Items for future meetings included a tour of Molsen Farm with the Master Plan review and also a update on the Inclusion Assessment Inventory currently being conducted by the depa timent Intern. 10)Adjourn Motion: Upon a motion by Member Hollingsworth and a second by Member Holley, the Parks and Recreation Board voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. The motion carried.
