AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 485-1-849 AND CHANGING THE
NAME OF TEXET DRIVE, PARTICULARLY THAT PORTION LOCATED
FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH STATE HIGHWAY 5 TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH THE FRONTAGE ROAD AT U. S. HIGHWAY 75, IN
THE TEXET ADDITION TO THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS, TO
RIDGEMONT DRIVE; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, at the request of Texet,
Incorporated, adopted Ordinance 485-1-84, changing the name of a portion of
Ridgemont Drive to Texet Drive on the fifth day of January, 1983; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission at a regular meeting held on
May 8, 1986, determined that Texet, Incorporated, is no longer a viable business
operation at this location; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission stated additional findings that a
continuation of Ridgemont Drive at this location would be in the best interest of the
health, safety and welfare of the community; and,
WHEREAS, The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the City
Council repeal Ordinance No. 485-1-84 and change the name of Texet Drive back to
Ridgemont Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, agrees with the findings
and recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE THE
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That City of Allen Ordinance No. 485-1-84 is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That the street located from its intersection to State Highway
5 to its intersection of the frontage road at U. S. Highway 75 in the City of Allen,

Collin county, Texas, designated Texet Drive, be and by these presents hereby officially
changed to and redesignated as Ridgemont Drive.
SECTION 3. That as a result of this change, the City of Allen will provide
for notification of said change and redesignation to all public utilities and postal
authorities.
SECTION 4. That all ordinances or portions of ordinances of the City of
Allen in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby amended to conform
to the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately from and after its adoption.
