AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, REPEALING ORDINANCE NOS. 297 and 410-9-82; AMENDING
SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 173 OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION THEREOF; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That from and after the effective date of this Ordinance,
Ordinance Nos. 297 and 410-9-82 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. That from and after the effective date of this Ordinance,
Section I of Ordinance No. 173, "Exemption", is hereby amended in the following
manner and shall read as follows, to -wit:
SECTION I. EXEMPTION.
Upon compliance with all requirements of this article and all other
applicable laws and ordinances, $20,000 of the assessed value of residence
homesteads of persons sixty-five (65) years of age or older shall be
exempt from ad valorem taxes levied by the City of Allen.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and publication as required by law.
