AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY
TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE TAXATION OF PROPERTY
EXEMPT UNDER ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 1-j, TEXAS
CONSTITUTION BEGINNING WITH THE 1990 TAX YEAR; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen finds that the
taxation of certain goods, wares, ores, and other tangible personal property
that is forwarded out of this state within 175 days of its acquisition or
importation into this state is in the public interest.
" NOW THEREFORE: be it ordained by the City Council of the City of
Allen, Texas:
SECTION 1: All of that property described in the Texas
Constitution, Article VIII, Sec. 1-j, beginning in January, 1990, shall be fully
taxable in the City of Allen and for all following years.
SECTION 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with
this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately from and
after its passage and the publication of the caption, as the law in such cases
provides.
