Min - City Council - 1970 - 01/08 - RegularREGULAR MEETING January 8, 1970 City Council, City of Allen Allen, Texas Present : Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: Dan Strong, LeRoy Ewen, C.D. Whitaker, Mack Holloway and Bob Lowman. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. A public hearing was held to hear the Rezoning of the 10 acres in the Wm. Perrin Survey owned by Neal Holmes . Upon the reccomendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission and since no one appeared to speak against this rezoning; a Motion was made by Dan Strong Seconded by C.D. Whitaker that the Zoning on this property be changed from "G" Classification to "F" Classification. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against, Jack Parsons, John Gibson and Dub Eubanks appeared before Council in regards to a Drainage Study being made on the Hillside Village Addition. After some discussion Mr John Gibson, who is Mr Parsons Engineer, suggested that a 20 minute run off factor be used in this study. However Walter Hicks the City Engineer disagreed with this figure and reccommended that the Council use a 10 minute run off factor on this study, also he reccommended that an underground storm sewer be constructed along the East side of the Jan Mar Development from the North end of Allen Heights Drive to the end of the property owned by this Developer. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Mack Holloway that the 10 minute run off factor as reccommedded by Mr Hicks be adopted . Motion carried 5 For 0 Against. Council also tabled the discussion on the storm sewer untill the next meeting to allow Mr Parsons to present an alternate proposal on this matter. Ed Lynge appeared before Council in behalf of the Library Board and discussed some of the problems confronting the Library, Mr Lynge asked of the possibility of the City being able to hire a Libriarian on a part time basis. Council elected to table this matter untill they had time to discuss the situation. Motion Roy Ewen Second Dan Strong that bills presented he approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against , Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Dan Strong that Council accept the petition from the OKC Corporation to annex all the property purchased from W.L. Wood into the corporate limits of the City of Allen. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Council reccommended that our City Attorney contact the Town of Parker and to take the necessary steps to prevent the Town of Parker from infringing upon land within the boundries and jurisdiction of the City of Allen. Motion made and seconded that Council adjourn. These minutes read and approved this the 15 day of January 1970
