ORDINANCE NO. 1041-8-91
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
CHANGING THE NAME OF ELLIS COURT, A STREET IN THE ALLENWOOD
ESTATES SUBDIVISION, TO ELLIS CIRCLE; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES OR
PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City of Allen that the residents of Ellis Court have
been of the understanding for many years that the street was named Ellis Circle; and,
WHEREAS, the city's official street map shows this street as being named Ellis Circle and the
subdivision plat indicates it is Ellis Court; and,
WHEREAS, the inception of the 911 emergency response system requires that street names be
consistent; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, is of the opinion that the safety and welfare
of the inhabitants of Ellis Court would best be served by changing the name from Ellis Court to Ellis
Circle;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1: That the street platted as Ellis Court in the Allenwood Addition of the City of Allen,
Collin County, Texas, be, and is by these presents hereby officially changed to and redesignated as
"Ellis Circle."
SECTION 2: That as a result of this change, the City of Allen will provide for notification of said
change and redesignation to the proper 911 representatives at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
SECTION 3: That all ordinances or portions of ordinances of the City of Allen in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby amended to conform to the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: , That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its
adoption. y< '
