Present : Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: Clifford Hart, Bob Lowman. LeRoy Ewen &
Mack Holloway. C. D. Whitaker absent.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Bob Lowman that minutes of
previous meeting be approved Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
After some discussion on permitting the use of Fire
Trucks and Emergency equipment being used in parades and other
uses beside uses of Emergency nature, Council agreed that in
view of the recent Tort Claims Bill being passed that it would
be in the best intrest of the City to prohibit the use of these
vehicles except for emergency use.
Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that bills
presented be approved with the exception of the bill from
W.H. (Lefty) Lumpkin, Invoice No. 6639, that only the 300
feet of hose previously approved by Council be paid by the
City. Also the bill from the Daily Courier Gazette for the
publishing of the Caption on 2 Ordinances be approved.
Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Bob Lowman that Ordinance No.
99. be approved. Motion Carried 4 For 0 Against.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Clifford Hart that Mr V.
Richardson be hired on a full time basis as City Building
Inspector at a salary of $150.00 per month. Motion Carried 4
For 0 Against,
T.H. Ereckson, President of the Allen School Board,
was present and invited Council to meet with School Board
and Planning and Zoning Commission in a joint meeting, to be
held at the High School on May 14, at 7:30 P.M. Council
agreed to meet with School Board on this date.
Motion Mack Holloway Second Bob Lowman that meeting
adjourn. Motion carried 4 For 0 Against,
