ORDINANCE NO- 1173-5-93
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1105-5-92,1992 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, BY
AMENDING THE MAJOR THOROUGHFARE PLAN TO REALIGN EXCHANGE
PARKWAY AND ELIMINATE PORTIONS OF BETHANY DRIVE AND
PORTIONS OF BRAY CENTRAL DRIVE.
WE3RE.AS, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the governing body of the City of Allen
recognize the need to amend Ordinance No. 1105-5-92, by amending the Major Thoroughfare Plan of
the 1992 Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has duly considered the amendments to the Major
Thoroughfare Plan of the 1992 Comprehensive Plan and recommends that the alignments of Exchange
Parkway, Bethany Drive and Bray Central Drive be adopted per the attached Exhibit "A;' and,
WHEREAS, the proposed amendments to the Major Thoroughfare Plan of the 1992 Comprehensive
Plan have received a favorable recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission; and,
VII EREAS, this amendment is the culmination of an inordinate amount of effort on the part of the
Review Committee, the City Council and the City Staff, and,
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Allen held a public hearing on April 15, 1993, and
subsequently recommended that the interests of the City were best served by amending the Major
Thoroughfare Plan to the 1992 Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, after due investigation and consideration, finds and declares that
amendingg the Major Thoroughfare Plan to the 1992 Comprehensive Plan is in the best interests of the
City of A11en;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CTTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 1105-5-92,1992 Comprehensive Plan, is hereby amended to reflect the
thoroughfare alignments that are noted in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof for all
purposes.
SECTION 2: The City Council directs that all Boards, Commissions and the City Staff utilize the
information contained within the amended plan and disseminate that information to all interested
parties.
