Mack Holloway
Motion Bob Lowman Second Roy Ewen that minutes of previous meeting be app-
roved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Clifford Hart that bills presented be approved.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Mack Holloway that the request for closing of the
street between the Elementary School and the old gym by the Allen Public Schools
be denied at this time since the street was already closed to through traffic.
If at a later date the School has need for the City to Abandon this street,
Council would reconsider this proposal. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Don Terrell appeared before Council and asked the possibility of removing
some of the Traffic Buttons recently placed in the Center of Main Street by the
Highway Department. Mr Terrell felt that these buttons interfered with customers
entering and leaving his place of business. Council agreed for Chief Jerry Burton
to contact the Highway Department and follow their reccomendation on this matter.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Roy Ewen that the 1970 City Tax Rate be set at
$ 1.25 per hundred dollar assessed valuation. Motion Carried 4 For 1 Against.
Bob Lowman voted against,
Motion Bob Lawman Second Clifford Hart that $10,000.00 be alloted by the
City for the repairing and resurfacing the City Streets. Motion Carried 5 For
0 Against.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Clifford Hart that meeting adjourn. Motion Carried 5
For 0 Against,
