AN - ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS,
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1105-5-92, THE 1992 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN,
AS PREVIOUSLY AMENDED, BY AMENDING THE MAJOR THOROUGHFARE
PLAN TO ELD41MATE A PORTION OF BETHANY DRIVE.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the governing body of the City of Allen
recognize the need to amend Ordinance No. 1105-5-92, as previously amended, by amending the Major
Thoroughfare Plan of the 1992 Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has duly considered the amendments to the Major
Thoroughfare Plan of the 1992 Comprehensive Plan and recommends that Bethany Drive be eliminated
from the Thoroughfare Plan from its intersection on the south side of F.M. 2170 to its intersection with
Alma Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to the Major Thoroughfare Plan of the 1992 has received a
favorable recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission; and,
WHEREAS, this amendment is the culmination of an inordinate amount of effort on the part of the
Review Committee, the City Council and the City Staff; and,
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Allen held a public hearing on September 1, 1994, and
subsequently recommended that the interests of the City were best served by amending the Major
Thoroughfare Plan to the 1992 Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council, after due investigation and consideration, finds and declares that
amending the, Major Thoroughfare Plan to the 1992 Comprehensive Plan is in the best interests of the
City of Allen;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY'OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, THAT.
SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 1105-5-92, the 1992 Comprehensive Plan, as previously amended, is
hereby amended to reflect that Bethany Drive be eliminated from the Thoroughfare Plan from its
intersection on the south side of F.M. 2170 to its intersection with Alma Drive.
SECTION 2: The City Council directs that all Boards, Commissions and the City Staff utilize the
information contained within the amended plan and disseminate that information to all interested
parties.
