Present: Mayor Frank Dugger
Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Roy Ewen, Mack Holloway &
Clifford Hart.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meeting be
approved as read by City Secretary. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against,
Mrs Ruth Pringle and Mrs Erlis Koch asked approval of the Council for the
local chapter of Epsilon Theta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha to print their sorority
and distribute fold-up type maps of the City of Allen, Council gave this
organization approval on this project and also permission to use or reproduce
any of the City's maps on this project,
Johnnie Enloe appeared before Council and asked information as to the rocking
of the alley separating Blocks 4 & 5 in the Old Whisenant Addition. Council
explained to Mr Enloe that there seemed to be some drainage problem at this
point and that the City would contact City Engineer Walter Hicks and follow his
reccomendation on this problem,
John Looney and Mr Barker of the Southern Sanitation Company appeared before
Council to discuss a contract for the garbage pick-up in the City. Mr. Looney
stated that his present contract with the City of McKinney expired on July 31,
1971, and at this time he would not want to sign any contract beyond this date;
however he said that he would be willing to sign a contract at the present rate
to expire in July 31, 1971. If at the end of this time he would again talk
with the Council about the renewal of the contract. Mr Looney stated that he felt
he would know by May 1, 1971 if his contract with McKinney was to be renewed.
Motion Roy Ewen Second Clifford Hart that City sign a contract with Southern
Sanation Company from this date untill July 31, 1971, Motion Carried 5 For 0
Against.
Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that bills presented be approved.
Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Mack Holloway Second C.D. Whitaker that City pay Delinquient Taxes on
City property. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that meeting be adjourned. Motion
Carried 5 For 0 Against.
