Min - City Council - 1970 - 12/03 - RegularREGULAR MEETING December 3, 1970 City Council, City of Allen Allen, Texas Present : Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: Roy Ewen, C.D., Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Mack Holloway & Clifford Hart. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that minutes of previous meeting be approved as read by City Secretary, A.C. Story. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Mr W.E. Ford was unable to attend Council meeting, because of sick- ness, to present information to Council on the Insurance Policy renewal that he was sealing for the Company that he represented. Mr. Ford sent some information that was relayed to Council by City Secretary. Council elected to wait untill next Regular Meeting and Mr Ford would probably be able to attend and better explain the terms of the policy to then before they took any action on the re- newal of the policy. Motion Bob Lowman Second Clifford Hart that the bill from the Triple E Construction Co. not be approved untill all loose rock pulled back up into the street and packed and rolled down, also that all loose dirt cleaned and removed from the edges of the streets that this company had worked on. All other bills presented were approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Mr Wallace Campbell, representing Hersey-Sparling Meter Company, appeared and presented to Council a contract for one year to furnish the City Water Meters. This contract stipulated that the City could purchase the num- ber of meters needed for a guaranteed price of $ 39.18 each. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that City Approve contract as presented by Mr. Campbell. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Chief Jerry Burton presented bids on a Plymouth and Ford automobile and also the bid for overhauling the 1970 Plymouth Automobile now in use by the Police Department, Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that City accept the bid for a 1971 Plymouth at a trade in price of approximately $2200.00. Motion Carried 4 For 1 Against. Clifford Hart voted against. Motion C.D.
