ORDINANCE NO. 1470-11-96
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUN'T'Y, TEXAS,
CHANGING THE NAME OF ROWLETT ROAD TO EXCHANGE PARKWAY,
FROM A POINT BEGINNING AT U.S. 75 ON THE EAST -CONTINUING IN A
,WESTWARD DIRECTION TO A POINT WEST OF ROWLETT CREEK
INTERSECTED BY A 90' TURN TO .THE NORTH; AMENDING ALL
ORDINANCES OR PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITI�
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, has deemed it appropriate to change the name
of Rowlett Road to Exchange Parkway from a point beginning at U.S. 75 on the east continuing in a
westward direction to a point west of Rowlett Creek intersected by a 90' turn to the north in order to
provide consistency throughout the length of this ordinance; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has deemed this action is necessary in order to reduce confusion and
enhance traffic mobility and access via this thoroughfare throughout its length from its eastern point at
Malone Road to its western point west of Rowlett Creek; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there will be a minimal number of structures whose
address will be affected; and,
WHEREAS, the changing of the name of this thoroughfare is timely.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, THAT: .
SECTION 1: The street currently named Rowlett Road from a point beginning at U. S. 75 on the
east and continuing in a westward direction' to a point west of Rowlett Creek intersected by a 90' turn
to the north be, and is by these presents hereby officially changed and redesignated as "Exchange
Parkway."
SECTION 2: As a result of this change, the City of Allen will provide for notification of said change
and redesignation to all public utilities and postal authorities.
SECIZON 3: All ordinances or portions ofd ordinances of the City of Allen in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance are hereby amended to conform to the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4: Thisrordinance 'shall be in full force and effect as of January 1, 1997.
