Call to Order
With a quorum oftbe Board members present,the Regular Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board
was called to order by Chair Ponder at 6:36 PM on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, in the City Hall
Basement Conference Room A of City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, TX 75013.
1. Approve Minutes of the July 19,2022, Regular Meeting.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Hermida and a second by Board Member
Walters, the Board voted four (4) for and zero (0) opposed to approve the minutes
pending changes.
2. Receive Financial Report. Susan Ponder gave an update.
3. Discussion of Changes to KAB Scholarship.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Hermida and a second by Board Member
Walters,the Board voted five(5)for and zero(0)opposed to raise the scholarship from
$500 to $1,000.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Hermida and a second by Board Member
McIntosh,the Board voted five(5)for and zero(0)opposed to rename the second Keep
Allen Beautiful Scholarship to the Keep Allen Beautiful Donna Kliewer Youth
Scholarship.
4. Discussion of KAB Youth Advisory Committee.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Walters and a second by Board Member
Hermida, the Board voted five (5) for and zero (0) opposed to form the Keep Allen
Beautiful Youth Advisory Committee.
5. Receive Update on KAB Event and Projects.
• September 10, 2022—Day of Service Project—Josue Diaz discussed the event.
• September 29, 2022—Educator Expo—Andrea Smith discussed the event.
• October 13, 2022—STAR Awards—Andrea Smith discussed the event.

6. Discuss Outreach Initiatives.
Josue Diaz and Andrea Smith gave updates on outreach initiatives.
Adjournment
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Board Member Hermida and a second by Board Member
Walters, the Board voted five (5) for and zero (0) opposed to adjourn the Regular
Meeting of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board at 7:51 p.m. on Tuesday,August 16, 2022.
The motion carried.
