A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE
TEXAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE,DIVISION REQUESTING SECOND YEAR
LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION FUNDS AND DESIGNATING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT IN'BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALLEN IN
APPLYING FOR THESE FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration
has made funds available for criminal justice
programs to be administered on a statewide
level by the Texas Criminal Justice Division;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Allen is eligible to receive such
funds and is desirous to promote the safety
and well being of its citizens through the
reduction of crime;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Allen, Texas,
certifies that the City is eligible to receive
these funds and has authorized the staff to
submit such application to the Criminal Justice
Division.
Section 2. The City Council authorizes and directs the
City Manager to represent and act for the
City of Allen in dealing with the Criminal
Justice Division for the purposes of this
program.
