A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS,
PLACING A MORATORIUM ON REVIEW OF ALL ZONING AMENDMENT REQUESTS
RECEIVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OR BY THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION;
AND SETTING THE EFFECTIVE DATE FOR THE MORATORIUM TO BEGIN ON
FRIDAY, MAY 22, 1981.
WHEREAS, the Allen City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission have
been in the process of reviewing a comprehensive amendment
to the City's Zoning Ordinance and;
WHEREAS, the City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission are
approaching the completion of that initial review process
and;
WHEREAS, on the advise of legal counsel, the City Council has deemed
it wise and prudent that no zoning amendment request should
be considered during the final stages of review of the
zoning text and zoning map or during the adoption process.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ALLEN CITY COUNCIL,
Section 1 - Through this action the City Council declares a
moratorium on the review of zoning amendments by
the City Council and the Planning & Zoning Commission
for a period of go days.
Section 2 - This moratorium will become effective beginning Friday,
May 22, 1981.
