A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
TEXAS, SUSPENDING THE RATE SCHEDULES TO BE CHARGED BY
TEXAS POWER & LIGHT COMPANY IN THE CITY OF ALLEN FOR
AN ADDITIONAL THIRTY DAYS TO SEPTEMBER 7, 1981, AND
PROVIDING NOTICE HEREOF TO SAID PUBLIC UTILITY.
WHEREAS, Texas Power and Light Company on March 6, 1981, filed
with the City Secretary a statement of.intent and
petitioned for authority to change rates for electric
service provided by it within the corporate limits of
the City of Allen and proposed that the revised schedules
and rates become effective on April 10, 1981 and;
WHEREAS, the City Council, acting as the original rate making
jurisdiction for electrical rates within the City
suspended such request for a period of one hundred
and twenty (120) days ending August 8, 1981 and;
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities Regulatory Act provides that,
if necessary, the City Council can suspend rates for
an additional thirty (30) days upon the expiration of
the 120 day period and;
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that an additional
thirty (30) days suspension is warranted considering the
negotiations between the Company and representatives
of the City regarding the provisions of the fuel adjust-
ment clause.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS.
Section 1 The effective date of the proposed revision of rates and
schedules of Texas Power & Light Company for electric
service within the City be suspended for an additional
thirty (30) days to September 7, 1981.
Section 2 The City Secretary is hereby directed promptly and after
passage to furnish a copy of this resolution to Texas
Power & Light Company.
