Min - City Council - 1971 - 04/10 - RegularREGULAR MEETING April 1, 1971 City Council, City of Allen Allen, Texas Present -Mayor Frank Dugger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Bob Lowman, Mack Holloway, Clifford Hart & Roy Ewen. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that minutes of previous meet- ing be approved as read by City Secretary. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Mr. Charles Tripplett appeared before Council to present a proposal by him for the garbage pickup in the City. Council asked Mr. Tripplett to let them study his proposal untill the next Council meeting and also for him to present to the City a copy of his Contract with the City of McKinney andthe City of Plano covering his dumping priviledges at their respective dump grounds. Leland McJunkins along with Howard Trammell and Don Kissinger appeared before Council to ask that the City provide some drinking fountains and rest roans for the Little League Field, also if it would be possible for the City to furnish bleachers for this field. Council agreed to install a water line and drinking fountains along with some portable rest rooms and also to look into the cost of the bleachers for these fields. Don Kissinger asked permission from Council for the Camp Fire Girls to use the City Ball Fields for a meeting on May 21. Council gave Mr. Kissinger their approval on this request. A public hearing was held on the placing of permanent zoning on the property owned by the Corporate Realty 71, Inc, and also a hearing on the final annexation of this property into the Corporate Limits of the City. Since no one appeared to protedt these hearings, a Motion by C.D. Whitaker Seconded by Clifford Hart that the Council follow the reccomendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the zoning be approved as set by the Commission, Also that Ordinance No 103 be approved on the final annexation of this property into the Corporate Limits of the City of Allah. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Sedond Bob Lowman that a Public Hearing be set for April 15th, 7:30 P.M. on the annexation of the School property South of the Elementary School into the Corporate Limits of the City. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Roy Ewen Second C.D. Whitaker that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Chief Jerry Burton appeared before Council and inquired into the possibility of the City hiring another full time Policeman at a salary of $ $00.00 per month, also for a telephone to be installed in the Police Car. Council felt that at this time they needed more time to study the possibility of hiring another Policeman. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that City have the telephone installed in Police Car. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Clifford Hatt Second Bob Lowman that meeting adjourn untill next meeting date on April 15. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against.
