R-490-2-84RESOLUTION NO. 490-2-84(R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING ALLEN DRIVE AS A FUTURE THOROUGHFARE FOR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND PRO- HIBITING ONSTREET PARKING TO SATISFY ONSITE PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Allen, Texas, has reviewed the City's Thoroughfare Plan, and; WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has reviewed the future vehicular transportation needs of the Central Business District and the City of Allen, Texas, and; WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission after due study has concluded that Allen Drive will be a direct vehicular traffic route linking the Central Business District to major shopping, residential, and employment centers on the west side of U. S. Highway 75, and; WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission after due study has recommended that Allen Drive should be recognized and designated as a future thoroughfare, and; WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has further concluded and recommended that onstreet parking should not be allowed on Allen Drive to satisfy onsite parking requirements for development in the Central Business District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS, THAT: Section I. Allen Drive is hereby recognized to be a major vehicular traffic route linking the Central Business District to planned shopping, residential and employment centers on the west side of U. S. Highway 75. Section II. Allen Drive is hereby designated as a future thoroughfare. Section III. Onstreet parking will not be allowed on Allen Drive to satisfy onsite parking requirements for development in the Central Business District.
