A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY,
TEXAS, ADOPTING THE ATTACHED EXHIBIT "A" THOROUGHFARE PLAN
FOR THE CITY OF ALLEN AND DIRECTING THAT UNTIL FURTHER AMENDED,
THIS THOROUGHFARE PLAN BE USED FOR PLANNING PURPOSES BY THE
VARIOUS BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, AND STAFF OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, Allen's most current adopted thoroughfare
plan is dated 1977 and significant growths and development
activity has occurred within the City, with the result that
the plan is no longer adequate for planning purposes; and,
WHEREAS, recent planning studies by the Cities of
McKinney and Plano and by Collin County, Texas have further
undermined the usefulness of the existing plan; and,
WHEREAS, City Council has recognized these limitations
of the existing plan and directed that the City staff review
and prepare a proposed Thoroughfare Plan for Council consideration;
and,
WHEREAS, said proposed Thoroughfare Plan has been reviewed
favorably by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF
ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY TEXAS,
Section 1. The City Council herein adopts for use the attached
"Exhibit A" Thoroughfare Plan.
Section 2. City Council directs that the Park Board, Planning
and Zoning Commission, City Staff and others, begin using the
attached Thoroughfare Plan for purposes of reviewing any proposed
developments within the City of Allen affected by this plan.
DULY ADOPTED THIS THE 21st DAY OF JUNE, 1984.
