A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, REQUESTING THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
OF TEXAS TO DOCKET THE REQUEST OF THE CITY OF ALLEN FOR
EXTENDED AREA SERVICE.
WHEREAS, according to the Public Utilities Commission
records, the City of Allen requested Extended Area Service in
1978; and,
WHEREAS, subsequently, the Public Utilities Commission
deferred any action on EAS requests pending the development of
substantive rules guiding the Commission's response to such a
request; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that on May 7, 1985 the Public
Utilities Commission will adopt substantive rules regarding
Extended Area Service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE'IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
Section I. It is requested that the Public Utilities
Commission consider the request made by the City of Allen in
1978 for Extended Area Service as the date of original petition
for purposes of docketing the Allen Extended Area Service request.
Section II. If, for whatever reason, the Public Utilities
Commission is unable to docket the Allen EAS request based on
the 1978 petition, then this resolution will serve as the
request by the Allen City Council to be placed on the Public
Utilities Commission docket to be considered for Extended Area
Service for the Allen area.
Section III. A copy of this resolution shall be delivered
to the chairman of the Public Utilities Commission and to any
other interested parties.
